Our Care Kits

Through the cooperation of Avita and Ohio Health Systems, we are honored to provide Care Kits to Lung Cancer Patients upon their diagnosis. Each kit includes the following:

A Warm Plush Throw— to provide warmth and comfort at home, treatment visits and stays in the hospital. 

Pair of Sherpa-lined Socks— to combat the cold feet patients often experience as a side effect of treatments.

20oz Drink Tumbler— to promote fluid consumption and keep warm drinks warm and cool drinks cool. 

Hand Sanitizer and Sanitizing Wipes— to promote a germ-free atmosphere for recovery.

Mints, Chewing Gum and Fruit-flavored Candy— to mask the bad tastes patients often experience following chemotherapy treatments.

An Assortment of Hot Tea and Drink Flavorings— to promote fluid intake beyond plain, boring water. 

Puzzle Books and Playing Cards— to engage and distract the patient’s mind beyond the stressful matters at hand. 

A Journal— to record thoughts, lists, or whatever comes to mind.

Lung Cancer Resources— provided by our wonderful partners at the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and the Go2 Foundation on a variety of topics, including a fantastic Care Planner to record the patient’s diagnosis, treatment plans, log visits to doctors and specialists and record side effects.

A Large Canvas Tote— that can be utilized to carry supplies and personal items to treatments, visits to the doctor and hospital, or wherever the patient may need to take care items along.
